Cool. How many NT games are on ESPN + this season?

Not sure.  The Mean Green website only shows SFA on Plus , but it doesn’t show TV for the whole season. Tech is on FS1. UTSA is on Espn2.

I wonder if the American waits to see which games should be on the Plus, and which should be on the networks?

Yep. It’s a week by week thing that they have to work out with ESPN.

During the game, they mentioned the next 5 games. If I remember correctly, it was in this order:

ESPN+

FS1

ESPN2

ESPN+

ESPN+

Looks like we’ll have quite a few on ESPN+ this year

Honestly a little surprised they had a UNT helmet to display

I don't remember us ever getting a shout out unless it was punt return against Arkansas.

That's pretty good honestly.  Broadcast TV is in its death throws. Just wish we had better announcers. Pretty sure we had the sandman playing color commentary this week.

Sooner cable dies the better.

No the shift is all about still making you pay & watch commercials for a whole lot of content you don't want for part you do want.  People are not paying more for less on average.  NFL games that would likely be on cable or free will now be on Paramount+  full of content I don't want.  So now I will miss those games just like I missed this North Texas game because I overslept and the nearest watch party was over 45 minutes away not counting parking and walking to the venue.  Before streaming this game would be on ESPN Game plan giving you essentially all the midmajor CFB you wanted.  Any sports bar in the area even Chilli's would likely had this game on.  I went to 3 late even the Boomer Jacks a watch party was held last year, no luck.

Partly true.  But now I don't have a $100+ monthly 12-month contract just to watch football. I subscribe for a month or two, move on. Olympics? 1 month of peackock.

Yes, it would be bad if each team or sport was tied to a specific service. I already have prime for shipping, so Thursday night is basically a freebie. Disney+ is basically a requirement for families with kids, so espn3 and espn+ are basically free too (ok, maybe 5 a month).

My biggest struggle is normal espn which is tied to an obscenely priced cable service or youtube tv or whatever on top of it all. Once network tv dies, they can bundle it cheaper and I don't have a contract for it anymore. Just a month here and there and all is well! Until then, I shall pirate the seven seas for my sports on Sunday.

Hopefully a lot while DirectTV has dropped ESPN in contract dispute. Does not impact ESPN+.

Before, you'd have to wait hours or days to get somebody out to hook you up to cable. On Saturday, you could have spent $11 (probably same as gas for that 45 minute drive you were considering to get to a watch party and back) and had instant access to the UNT game. I'm sorry you missed the game but that's on you, not on the current online streaming model.

The game was at 4pm and you overslept?

We need to send them a “Wing” helmet. Doubt we’ll see the full eagle anymore.

I'm sure they have a spare green Oregon "wing" helmet laying around they could sub in for that. :zonk:

I heard Georgia was giving up the "G" helmet because Grambling has it.   Same for Michigan once they discovered the University of Delaware had it.

If Grambling and Delaware had it first, like Oregon, they should...

You realize Oregon is far from the first to use a “winged” helmet? And the SOW was around about a decade before Oregon first used their “winged” helmet?

Yeah, I have gripes when it comes to the streaming model, but forking down 10-15 bucks in a one-off emergency to get instant access, plus not having to commit to a full year ain't one of them.
