Chico Canales Update

Mike is now the QB coach at Southeastern University a private christian college based out of Lakeland Florida.  They open the season at Tulane this year.  Interesting side note, his biography makes no mention of North Texas or his time there.

Where are you seeing that they open the season at Tulane?  Their schedule shows them playing Faulkner University at home.

Side note….The Canales bio mentions he was interim head coach at North Texas in 2010.

Love me some Chico. That guy wanted the permanent gig so bad and was 100 percent committed while he was here, all the way to the alma mater at the end.

Longtime Mean Green fans have something in common with him, because we should also be committed.

He was an interim coach who inherited Dodge's mess in 2010 and McCarney's mess in 2015. Nobody expects a mid-season fill-in to stack up wins.

Before he took over for Dodge, the Mean Green were 1-7 and scoring 16 points a game. Under Chico they doubled that and went 2-3 the rest of the season.
