That stinks.  Injury or not, this may be the last year of his eligibility.  I can't keep up with the rules anymore, so I could be wrong, but I'd be surprised if he gets to play for us next year.  I was really looking forward to watching him on the field for us.

He could make his case to the NCAA for an injury year no?

Like I said, I can't keep track of the rules anymore.  But I'm pretty sure the clock starts ticking once you start practicing with a team, and I thought they changed the rules so the NCAA wouldn't have to go on a case-by-case basis anymore.

His true freshman year was 2019, in which he took a redshirt.  This would make his 6th season of eligibility.  Based on El Paso's post above, maybe he could get a 7th.  We've certainly never had a player before who played his 7th season of eligibility with us.

Injuries in Fall Camp?

Anybody know what happened?

It happened during the summer. He hasn't practiced all fall. That's what Morris said during the interview they put out today.

Sucks to lose him. Good news is that Jayven Anderson was a highly recruited prospect from North Shore. I feel pretty good about his future. Not sure if I feel good about the 3-3-5 but we shall see.

Why on earth did they wait until now if they knew he was out for the year? Strange.

In the press conference, Morris said nobody asked. They've been preparing without him all fall.

Jace Ruder is in his 7th season currently on our roster. John Davis just did with us last season.

NCAA has become incredibly lenient. They used to require that a player missed the majority of two separate seasons before they granted one hardship waiver/medical redshirt. Now they’ll give it out after just one.

Well, I stand corrected.  Thanks, Billy.

Thank you for posting this @peanuts104

This GMG crowd has some damn sharp elbows these days and I am sorry they sometimes shoot the messenger it seems sadly.  I do appreciate your postings.

Oh boy.
He was supposed to be a game-changer at the STAR spot, which is a critical position in the 3-3-5.

Huge loss; probably the worst one we could've had (outside of CMorris) considering the state of the defense.

Morris was trying to lay as many bets on S. Alabama to cover before word got out.
