Is that a problem any more at the G5 level? Recruits go somewhere hoping for transfer portal opportunities. It would take sustained success or non-football considerations to make players want to be somewhere four years, not a coach they liked when they were still in high school. -

IIRC, his grandfather got sick. We released him of his commitment to allow him to play closer to home. We did him and his family a solid. -

If it worked at UIW why not here?
This is for all UT system schools so I doubt it's UT Austin trying to entice walk-ons. Any reason UNT, or any other school, can't offer the same? It might require raising admissions standards though because that would be a lot of free tuition to give out. -
