Looks like he won a national championship in juco

Before Fairfield: After winning an NJCAA National Championship at Northwest Florida State College, Floyd assumed a starting role in the backcourt at Hillsborough in 2022-23. The 6-3 guard ranked second on the Hawks with 14.7 points per game and led the team with 6.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest. Floyd played scholastically at Wharton High School in his hometown of Tampa, Fla.

From Brett V:

UNT was among a host of schools that showed interest in Floyd after he entered the transfer portal. Southern Illinois, Marshall, Arkansas-Little Rock and San Jose State also offered Floyd a scholarship.

Also.....Floyd said that last season was an okay season for him, and that he has multiple things to work on. I like the humility of the kid.

Looks like a good finisher and can score from all over the court. Love the size of our guards, all 6'3 plus. and Hodge does love left handed guards! Welcome to UNT.

Jossell is only 5-11, but yes to more guard size overall.

Now we need to add some 6-7 or 6-8 PF/wing types.

6'3" guard who gets you 6 boards a game, a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio, 87 steals last season (Rubin, our best on-ball defender, had 127...for his career).

yes please.

How did their pace of play compare?  We were notoriously slow with our offense, which limited possessions.

Fairfield was at 68.9 possessions/gm.  A pretty quick clip putting them just outside of the top 1/3, ranking #143.
We were at 62.8 possessions/gm.  Tied for 2nd slowest pace (#360) after Virginia's mind-numbing 60.8.

With Atin's catch the other day and now this video with Floyd, I like what the social media team is doing trying to spotlight and introduce the new players.

Would like to see this segment continue on with all the newbies and see how Dello's on-camera personality grows, too.
