FBI wiretaps intercepted telephone calls between LSU coach Will Wade and aspiring business manager Christian Dawkins, in which Wade expressed frustration about his inability to close what he described as a "strong-ass offer" for a recruit.

Perfect fit.  They had to be reminded Jerry Tarkanian is dead.

I didnt expect SMU to keep their coach going into the ACC, they spent a ton of money to get into that conference, why wouldnt they spend the money on a competitive coach that can recruit a new crop of players with their NIL money.

Then why didn't they do this two years ago when they knew they weren't staying in the AAC?  They would have two years in that system as they entered the ACC, now they are starting over. You can't spell CEsLmLuAR without SMU.

The morale of the story is never get beat by UNT if you want to keep your job.

June Jones agrees. Wonder if Lanier will spend more time with his ministry?

SMU is embarrassed because they are leaving the AAC for a “better” conference, and couldn’t even win what they considered the inferior conference.

Yes.  That is embarrassing.  This the need to make a change

F. Lanier will do good things. Rice just got better.

It’s all good. Hodge gonna bring in some horses and the AAC gonna continue to grow.

Rice got better, no doubt.  But coach is gonna be shocked at the stark contrast in admin & booster support between SMU & Rice.

Won't be shocked by attendance support.  SMU has not yet figured out how to buy an audience.

Rice has a lot more in endowments, but for some insane reason almost all of its go to academics.
