No midweek nonconference bout this week. Straight into a home series with Tulsa. We are two of four AAC teams tied atop the conference standings at 5-1, along with FAU and Charlotte.

As of now, any inclement weather is supposed to wait until after the last game Sunday, so come out to Lovelace!

It looks to me like Mackenzie Childers has, in the last few weeks, become the ace of the staff. Phenomenal game. And some great defensive plays by Cierra Simon and Kailey Gamble. Two more home games this weekend...Saturday at 2, Sunday at noon. Go Mean Green!

Great game. Couple very good plays by Gamble at first and Simon at short, plus a great throw by Rainey in left to catch a Tulsa runner trying to stretch a single into a double. Well played and pitched by both teams. Childers has been excellent the past few weeks.

Another walk off homer.....wins the game! 1-0 win. Great pitching by Skylar. The homer was by Mikayla.....and it broke up a no hitter (thru 6 2/3). Team is now 7-1 in league play. Our gals go for the sweep tomorrow at noon....at The Lace.

What a horrible interference call overturning a force out at third and resulting in a run for Tulsa. The runs in the fourth inning by Tulsa are on the umpires. As a former third baseman and umpire, complete B.S.

Mikayla is on one this year! Sixth homer already after 9 last year. Hopefully we won't need late game heroics to complete the sweep tomorrow.

We did. And it was awesome.

Back to back to back walk-off winners. I doubt I'll ever see that again.

Very proud of the way the girls fought against great pitching in this series. Tulsa is going to be a tough out in the conference tournament. Coach should take the girls out and celebrate this series sweep. Remember, Tulsa was tied for the conference lead heading into the weekend. We moved them down to 4th place.

Co-leader, FAU got to feast on a 3-25 Memphis team this weekend. Right now, UNT looks as good or better than any program in the AAC.

The interference call on their catcher was just as bad. By rule, the umpires were correct, but it is a horrible rule and effected both teams and the outcome of the game.

Huge weekend which started with four 5-1 teams tied atop the AAC and ended with just two 8-1 teams. That series at home against FAU is gonna be huge!

Updated standings below. Note ECU took 2 of 3 from Charlotte, the CUSA refugee who gave us the most trouble last year. Those were ECU's first two wins of conference play after going 21-2 in nonconference.

If you're like me and Arlington is a closer drive to you from home or work than Denton, come out Tuesday night at 6 to support the team as they try to sweep UTA in 2024!
