I don't know all the lawful ins and outs, but I would think there are also legal implications for not hiring people that fit your job requirements, but aren't alumni.

If you have an expectation for your job, lay it out in the job description, and then filter out potential hires because they aren't doing more than the job description, what happens?  How do you juggle the nasty implications of that?
