It never felt like we played our basketball all season.  Would love to see the men’s team compete (at least) one more time.

I think our women’s team could win the WNIT!

WNIT still do autobids to all conferences? They used to extend invite to the highest rated team from each conference that wasn’t picked by NCAA.

I think there’s enough NIT declines to give us a chance. And a healthy squad legitimately win it again.

Hope you are right that would be great

Where are you seeing these declines? Just curious.

I’d have to go back and check who exactly but there has been a number of teams that have already said they’re focus was building next years team.

I think there are two women’s tourneys as I understand it.  Not sure which is better.

WNIT is 48 teams at campus sites. WBI is 8 teams I think in Florida.

I’m not sure how they select.  I’d imagine we’re in, though.

I've also seen Indiana, Washington and Ole Miss among those that will/would decline an NIT offer.

Indiana State is another one

I would only take the CBI if it has  decent conferences’ teams . Ex. MWC, WCC ,WAC , CUSA, Charlotte

I would take it regardless. We've had postseason basketball the past three years, and I don't want to stop now. Let's keep building our program resume.

If true then I think Indiana State is putting on airs. They played in the CBI last year and as the number one seed they were 1-1.

It seems crazy to me these teams wouldn't want to just play more basketball. Even if it's for the seniors. Just don't see the disadvantage.

Now on the other hand, I am glad they feel that way because it gives us a glimmer of hope.

They want to focus that time on the transfer portal

Add St John’s and Pitt to the list declining a NIT invite

Ironic given St Johns helped run it for around 70 years.  I believe they've also won more NIT titles than anyone (many back when it was arguably as prestigious as the NCAA).

Pitino is too good for it.
