Give me a reason why we play Wyoming at home?

I really like Jared but this smacks of a really poorly thought out decision.  Wyoming will not bring jack squat to this game.  They negatively recruit UNT and have for decades.  The only reason they want this game is so they can try and poach recruits our of our backyard.  They bring absolutely nothing to the table for us.  They are using us and it is frustrating to observe.

The Wyoming series is exactly what fans have been asking for since as long as I've been a fan ("Follow the Boise model!!!!1!!!!!!1!).   We're trying to play teams we're supposed to beat... at home.

1.  If you are counting on other teams to fill your stadium then you are SMU.

2.  Wyoming is a very good team and a measuring stick for where we are as a program.  They were 9-4 last year!

3.  You need to beat upper-level Mid-majors if you want to start establishing a foundation to build on.

Wyoming and the MWC are peer schools we should try to schedule.  Much better than any FCS!

What Wyoming brings is a respectable G5 team that has been to four bowls the past five years and won three of them. Gimme more home and homes like this.

I’m excited to play Wyoming. An intriguing team with name recognition.

One of their alums is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. We will eventually merge with MWC PAC forces. May as well see where and how we stack up. 

Plus that away game in the mountains is going to be sweet.

I think "foundation" is the wrong word.  If you want the program to grow and move up, then you have to start scheduling and beating these upper "mid" major programs.

Maybe I'm getting too picky about words in my dotage.  I think foundation is (or should be) the appropriate word. I think I would prefer to talk about taking on greater and greater challenges in order to continue to strengthen our foundation.

We have both grown and we have moved up.  It wasn’t too long ago we were in a Conference with Nicholls St, NW St, SFA.    Now we have a Conference with Army, Memphis, Tulane, etc.

Agree.  The wins in the NCAA over Purdue and NIT basketball over Okla St and Wisconsin were that.  Let's have more of it!
