The Mean Green ladies debut at home this weekend in two games each against South Dakota State and Mizzou. They enter the weekend 2-2 after a tournament in Tucson last weekend. Unfortunately weather canceled two other games they would have likely won.

The ladies will get to enjoy their first games at Lovelace with upgraded dugouts. The dugouts don't really allow much room for seating expansion, unless you were to put some elevated bleachers and maybe extend the pressbox with a modest suite on either side.

The first game is against #14 Mizzou at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. They started the tournament off today with a 1-0 no-hitter of TAMU Commerce (not sure why we don't play TAMU Commerce this weekend) and a 4-3 victory over SDSU. They're 7-0 but all but two games have been close. Last year we got swept in a three-game series in Columbia including two shutouts and a no-hitter. So we need the support to lift this team to an upset!

I would love to be at both games tomorrow (we play SDSU at 4 p.m.) but I have a weekend shift at the office in Fort Worth that will most likely force me to miss the first game. Hopefully I can make it out for the second.

Beat SDSU 9-4 last night even though we only had three hits.

Hammered 11-2 against Missouri this morning and currently down 2-0 to SDSU after two innings. This team has zero offense, had none last year as well.  Not sure what is going on, but they need to straighten this out asap. DeLong’s newness has worn out and it is time to produce.

When hosting a tournament, it seems that most teams try to set it up to where they have the best possible chance to win. In our case, we seem to be scheduling the hardest possible route. Hopefully, getting hammered by top teams, and we'll have some positive impact down the road.

It seems like we gave about the same effort in improving our offense in softball as we have on improving our defense in football.

Currently getting stomped by South Dakota State. We have 11 hits in four games this weekend.  This is a carry over from last year. Not sure what the issue is but they have to figure this out and quickly.

You definitely want to be tested going into conference play, but like last year we are getting slaughtered against the power conference teams. And losing the second game to SDSU puts us at 1-3 in our own tournament, not a good look...

We've got a lot of seniors to replace after this season, too.
