Nice, he should be in the DL rotation. I know he didn't have a ton of production, but he played in 31 games at a high level program. Exciting to see them address a position of need.

I think it is a nice add, and he may do some good things.  The more pressing need is we need a fire hydrant at the nose tackle position and it is the most important position on the defense in a 3-3-5 scenario.

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound Shipley had seven tackles (1.5 for loss) this season. He had five tackles in 11 games in 2022 and three in seven games in 2021. He did not play in 2020.

A three-star prospect, Shipley was ranked No. 929 overall and No. 43 among strong-side defensive ends in the class of 2020, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Of the 12 UO scholarship players to enter the portal this offseason, Shipley is the ninth to commit to a new school, joining receivers Ashton Cozart (SMU) and Kris Hutson (Washington State), safety Bryan Addison (UCLA), cornerback Trikweze Bridges (Florida), defensive back Cole Martin (Arizona State), running back Dante Dowdell (Nebraska), quarterback Ty Thompson (Tulane) and defensive lineman Tevita Pome’e.

Another bright side... He only has one year left to play, so we don't have to worry about him hitting the portal next year.

The sense of humor of the people not finding this funny.

Well this guy has the Iowa St 3-3-5 LB size we need but it sounds like we will play him as another undersized DE instead?
