In all fairness, if this game were played next year as a conference game they would at least be getting a bunch of ACC revenue.

Great, take.

It apparently doesn't matter how big their financial loss, how much NIL money is spent on hiring the team, how few SMU fans actually attend games; SMU will continue to go forward because of an unending supply of donor money.

That's the face they make when they realized they are paying out the ying yang to get beat down in the ACC with no ROI. They think it's worth it because they are not in the same conference as North Texas. "Stupid is as stupid does." I think I heard that somewhere.

I’m happy with the outcome of the game, but I hardly consider 23-14 “getting it handed to them.”

You are right, but getting beat by BC puts them towards the bottom of the ACC.

Excuses for what?  A pass-oriented team with a freshman backup QB in his 2nd start in pouring rain lost to a run focused P3 team with greater depth.  We were competitive, lead much of the game, and lost respectfully.  Sucks to lose, especially since we could have won in different circumstances, but that's how it goes.  Going to take a few years to build P3 depth.

And again, we'll make more conference revenue next year than we did this year. We aren't "paying" for anything

I want that to be true, but I honestly have no idea with bowl games being what they are (players opting out, etc) and with rosters changing yearly.

My expectation is that they will be somewhere in the bottom half of the conference…probably towards the upper end of the bottom half.

Umm, I think you are going to be disappointed considering you will not receive any revenue for something like 7 years.

We won't receive media contract revenue.  We will receive other miscellaneous conference revenue and that adds up to more than the total revenue in the AAC including media

This along with Florida State's AD absolutely laying into SMU as a new addition for "buying their way into the conference" and "adding zero media value" as the reason they are suing to get out of the ACC, SMU are not having a good time right now lol.
