A class of 39 signees joined North Texas on National Signing Day on Wednesday. 

Of the 39, 27 were incoming freshmen while the remaining 12 were via the transfer portal. UNT had a single early signee in 2022 with Landon Sides, making year two of the Eric Morris era a 38-player improvement. 247Sports currently ranks the Mean Green’s 2024 class as the 79th best in the country (72nd composite).

Just realized in the review of the defensive lineman, Keith Smith was not mentioned as being a returner.  Did they omit him or is this accurate?  Same with Brian Nelson at CB.

Full transparency — I have an excel sheet with every player from the 2023 roster and omitted Smith and Nelson on accident. They are not in the portal, was a mistake on my part — amended now in the story, thank you for bringing to my attention!
