Alright as somebody who was sitting in the endzone row 2 for the Memphis game (and others), I'm ecstatic about all the DB transfers to go along with our young DBs.

Full ride, vs maybe 10/15% probably helped make that decision.  Now if we could just get a baseball program we already have a D1 kid on campus lol

Yeah completely understandable. Plus that 15% to Baylor is a drop in the bucket considering their tuition costs.

Don't give an ideas...  but I wouldn't be surprised to see us go full tilt on the DL in January.

With all of the transfers in football, here are some things to keep in mind for the Spring Portal window (May1-15)

  • Grad transfers (graduating in May) cannot do anything official until then - quite a few will be available.
  • Players at schools where transfers are coming in will see they are being "replaced" or will move down the depth charts and hit the portal.
  • Players at schools where new coaches are coming do not feel they fit and hit the portal.

I would like to have as many here for the Spring as possible, but good players will be available in May.

Only problem with May window.. $$$$ schools will pay big money to get guys to come in and sure up rosters.  I was told by an SEC DL coach that is when kids can possibly get the most $$ because they know what the legitimate need is at that time post spring ball.   I'd like to have 2/3 scholarships available for that and have the rest allocated by then.

      Rule Changes to NCAA Football

      If I am not mistaken, the NFL deducts sack yardage from passing stats. It may give a more accurate picture of rushing and passing offense. It doesn’t change total offense.

      As in, right now? If a school leaves and we need a replacement, I see them as a solid candidate. But I don't think we need to add them just to add them.

      Rule Changes to NCAA Football

      Hate thinking that we need more rules but something they have to address is the players that are faking injuries bro slow down the momentum of another team and the ones that are just straight out flopping onto the ground to try and get a penalty thrown against the other team.

      Mean Green Host Rice Wednesday Night

      DENTON – The UNT men’s basketball team hosts American Athletic Conference undefeated Rice Owls Wednesday night at the Super Pit. The Mean Green (10-4, 1-1) and Owls (11-4, 2-0) are scheduled to tip-off at 8 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield and on ESPNU. UNT has won the last two meetings against Rice and eight of the last 10. Wednesday will be the first time the two teams have played in Denton since 2023. The Owls are under the leadership of veteran head coach Rob Lanier who is in his first season as Rice’s head coach after serving as SMU’s head coach from 2022-24 where last year he led the Mustangs to a 20-win season and split their series against North Texas. Lanier also served as the head coach at Georgia State (2019-22) and Siena (2001-05). Rice enters Wednesday’s game having won its first two league games of the year. They opened with a 70-64 road win over Tulsa on New Year’s Day and a 68-55 home win over Charlotte on Saturday. After Wednesday night’s game the Mean Green have a six-day break before facing East Carolina on the road on Jan. 14.
