End of season overall performance.

2022 offense was 17th

2022 defense was 113th

2023 offense was 9th

2023 defense was 120th

The 2 9 win seasons.

2018 offense was 24th

2018 defense was 46th

2017 offense was 28th

2017 defense was 97th

Our success/failure has never been about the offense. It’s always been about the defense. There needs to be a very short leash for our DC.
Or else we will waste another “Offensive Guru” head coach.

I wouldn’t be opposed to bringing Reff back. He wasn’t as bad as 2019 made him look.

1) What did you see in Reff that inspires the statement above?
2) What did you see/not see in Morris that inspired the statement below?

I am not impressed with this staff thus far and they have shown me nothing that says they can take this team higher than the guy we fired.

1. What the original poster put for the 2018 defensive stats.

2. Regression

We’ll have to agree to disagree on #2.  No doubt in my mind that this year’s team beats last year’s team.

Felt like Aune was good for a pick 6 that guaranteed a loss every week so I will concur on that one

I disagree. One thing we know about this year’s team is that anyone could run on us. Last year’s 4-headed monster with Bloesch and Cobbs running things would’ve had 2 maybe 3 100 rushers against this year’s team.

Defense needs an overhaul, players and coaches.  Period.

The only person at risk of wasting our HC is our offensive coordinator masquerading as a HC.  He needs to learn the HC ropes quickly because the he showed up to begin the season completely overwhelmed and incapable of preparing a team to start the season.  It looked like he might have been turning the corner toward the end of the year, but now seems completely overwhelmed trying to keep his roster together.

This offseason certainly won't bring stability with the amount of roster repair that has to take place.  Hopefully he shows up next season better prepared than this season.  I have my doubts.

I think the nature of last years team makes for a difficult comparison.

last years team would’ve won one game between the UTSA/Memphis/Tulane stretch, comfortably, and then get inevitably humiliated by 30+ points in the other two.  Probably the ones that were played in front of the larger audiences.

What has he said or done to make you think this? I haven’t seen anything to make me think that.

His inability to prevent a mass exodus of productive players with remaining eligibility makes me think this.

I think they call the image below 'foreshadowing'.  😆
