With College Sports going "Pro" is it time to end the Tax exempt status for Programs?

College sports are no longer amateur sports, especially football and basketball. This has become a big-time entertainment business with a lot of money being made and spent. I am not a tax expert, but why should college programs continue to receive 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization status?

No doubt…just making sure the parallel is drawn. To be clear, I agree with your original premise.

All pro leagues and teams are 501c3.

Well, I think they're 501(c)(6), still tax exempt tho.  IIRC, the NFL gave up their tax exempt status about 10 years ago.
