For the players declaring for the Portal, do you keep them on scholarship for the Spring and let them finish the year if they don't find a mid-year transfer option? For me, as long as they're not disrespectful, you let them finish the school year without access to facilities or resources.

The scholarships are renewed for the entire school year. Don’t have the option to just take them off scholarship for entering the portal, at least to my knowledge.

This is what I found.  Not sure how accurate

Schools are also able to reduce/eliminate your scholarship for the next academic term once you enter the transfer portal. All of this is at the discretion of the coach and athletic program.

I would think this to be correct, but man, the optics could be less than desirable.

If I entered the portal,  I’d expect to lose the scholarship from my current school.

Neon Deion did it, basically fired the players,  and was a media darling for doing it.
