This is our kinda game - we're making them play the way we like to.  Sissoko's blown layup is gonna give me nightmares if we end up losing this one by a bucket.

We had two chances with Scott to take the lead in the last minute.  That's who you want, just didn't make it.  Great effort, but it definitely feels like one we could have stolen.

Missed opportunity. Hurts, because it could have been a major selling point in the fight for an at large at the end of the season, and it was there for the taking in the end and  definitely missed some easy opportunities.

But if you are taking away from this game that this team and coach will be a disappointment this season, then you are putting too much stock in the W-L record and not paying enough attention to what is going on on the court. this team has heart, and there is no reason to believe this team cannot put it together.

He had 5 in the final four minutes including that huge and-1. Really the only mistake was the misread on the Rubin tapout. The play I keep going back to is the Sissoko miss that would've given us a ton of momentum.

I would have had Edwards or Jones take the shot. Everyone knew that Scott would be the one so a nice change up would have been nice.

Gee, notice who stopped posting when we made the comeback?  This game will serve us well as the season progresses.  This team is better than they think they are.

We should have driven it into the basket for the final shot as well as trying to draw the foul.  Missed opportunity to take down a Big East opponent.

I feel like every time we drove to the bucket, St. Johns threw it back in our face.

I doubt they give us a whistle on a drive against Pitino in that spot.

SJ was almost a top 25 team when rankings came out, and I won't be surprised if they are sometime this season. In these big games you can't be afraid to shoot, too many times we gave up a possession without the chance of even getting a bucket.

Buggs sorta had two big mistakes at the end there that could have turned the game easily.

Either way, thanks for giving me a reason to turn on a basketball game mid day at the office. 😬🤫

Soriano is a beast, and it didn't help us how lightly they officiated him.

Ha. Facts.
It’s crazy to question Hodge. If you like the success we have had the past 6 years… Hodge was very much a primary role in it. This isn’t anywhere close to the situation the football team is in. Hodge has more than proven himself. It’s ridiculous to imply him being our HC is a bad call.

We went from down one to down eleven.  Obviously we eventually took the lead after that, but it was a huge swing and took us a lot of effort to overcome it.

Hate to say it, because I know he can be awesome, and he definitely was the discovery of the second half of last season...but Sissoko was not good this game. May have to do with the competition, but still this was far from his best.

Also I thought the foul on Buggs was an and 1? They took the bucket away and made him shoot 2? I thought it was clearly a bucket plus a foul?

I love Sissoko, and want nothing more than for him to play like his NIT self. I don't know if it's pressure or confidence, but he needs to be the backup to Allen until he shows he is the clear starter.
