Bean lost the starting qb job in HS to Chandler Rogers. Both of them started at UNT and ran out the door to the first P4 offer they could get their hands on.

I feel like Bean was pretty much shown the door when he got benched.

Bean made some very good throws and converted a 4th and 1 for a 40 yard touchdown. No reason to downplay the performance by saying he's good when his receivers have a 10 yard cushion. You don't throw 6 touchdown passes and for 449 yards just because your receivers get good separation.

Sounds like a viable reason to me. Unless he had such great protection from his OL that he had about 20-30 seconds on each throw.

Bean wanted to play but Seth had other ideas....mistake?

Chandler was brought here to play but Eric  had other ideas....mistake?

There is more to these story's that the fans aren't privy to....

He didn’t lose the starting role. They rotated possessions 50/50

I watched a little of the game.  Bean is a very good quarterback when his receivers have a 10 yard cushion from any defender.

And his scrambling/running ability allows guys to get open. Kansas was a dog program before he got there. He certainly took them to new heights Should have never left but we had an overpaid rookie head coach that wanted to get back to Oklahoma as soon as he could. By the way, We’re still looking for a quarterback after that fiasco.

He also threw three INT’s on their own side of the field, giving up 21 points, and allowing UNLV to get back into it. Bonehead plays like those aren’t missed. He obviously got better with better QB coaching at Kansas but he was far from great while he was here.

6 touchdowns?  Hmmm, but what was his facial expression on the sidelines??

2 TDs per interception sounds just like the guy who set the UNT record for most touchdown passes in a season.

That is not true. He helped sure but if Jalon Daniels is healthy Bean rarely sees the field. Lance Leipold took KU to new heights and Bean is a part of that but he is not THE reason. He was much like Aune at KU. He would make a great play and then commit an egregious turnover.

Would you say we now have an overpaid FCS coach who wants to get back to Lubbock as soon as he can?

Also, don’t forget who found our program’s all-time leading passer and had the guts to start him as an undersized freshman over an underperforming benched SEC transfer.

Saying that Bean turned Kansas around is a very lazy take to try and dog on Seth. Jalon Daniels and Devin Neal were far more impactful for that KU offense and its program revive. Not even mentioning the job Leipold and staff have done all over the roster

Sometimes you just make plays when needed.
