So glad we don’t just kick field goals.

We lost to Navy by 3. Turned it over on downs on 4th and goal in the first quarter.  Same against Memphis. If we're in the redzone and it's 4th and 3 or more, we need points. It's too early to turn it over on downs like we did the 1st drive of this game.

Edit to add, both our 4th down conversions happened around the 30 or further. It's an awkward area because a punt does little if it results in a touch back. It's a long game. Play it smart early.

Maybe against a running slow to score team like Navy I take the 3.  For anyone else I playing aggressive to hopefully be up by a 10 or more with less 3:30 left in the game.  This defense can't protect a lead with 12 players on defense.

Shame Conwright dropped that dime on the Rogers scramble. Regardless, good game at the half. Very much in this game. We're tackling pretty well overall.

On the SMU 4th down PI that wasn't called, I wonder if refs have been instructed not to call when the pass is short and the receiver pulls in the DB. Same type of calls went in UTSA's favor against us last week.
