Great points but that is all in the past. The new world order has Stanford in a desperate move to the ACC. A conference that will almost certainly be broken up soon and winners from that conference shakeup will not be Stanford, SMU, Duke, Cal, Pitt etc. They will be playing in the special-ed conferences like most schools. The silver lining to all of this is we can return back to the day of the student athlete and focus on academics first. Hundreds of schools around the country realize now that the chase is over and will shift gears.
I can imagine some video games - with virtual headsets, movement inside an arena with sensors - to be more physical than bowling and golf. I don't know if we are there yet.
This all depends on one's definition of the term sport. It obviously varies.
I assume they left us off because we're last?
At any rate, it's very early. Seeing schools like SFA and SHSU ahead of us might raise an eyebrow, but it's no reason to panic at this time. If we're still in the same position after the class is filled, then I might be worried.
Regardless, I'm far more interested to see how the current roster plays in the upcoming season. I would think another losing season would put Coach Morris on the hot seat in year 3.
