I am not even mad at the players, because the overpaid DC is not helping them with his pathetic defensive scheme he is shoving down their throats when the personnel is not there.

End of 1st. About to give up another score and our defense can’t stop straightforward, obvious run plays. And they are already exhausted. Great.

This looks like a bend and break defense under Craponi.

there is no bending when it is already broke.

Ok. So I saw two drives. One the first NT scored. on the second the D stopped Memphis at the ten yard line. And somehow NT is down 17-7

its because you missed the first 5 min where the Memphis RB got 134 yds on 3 carries with 2 TDs

I know. Because of that I seem to be watching a completely different game than the rest of you. It feels like NT ought to be leading 7-3 to me.

And hindsight this seems to be a case where Eric did not have the maturity as a coach to hire an experienced defensive coordinator. Maybe he wanted inexperienced coaches so he could show he was a control versus having the confidence in himself to hire an experienced defensive coordinator and let him run that side of the ball. Sadly not sure if this will change until he's been coaching for several more years as history shows Air Raid coaches do not place a lot of emphasis on defense

Eric Morris will not last another 2 full seasons.

The run D tends to tighten up as the game goes on.  Every single game we allow a long run on the first drive, they just don't come in prepared

And we do really well in the 5th quarter

Nothing wrong with going for it on 4th down, but truly a piss poor decision on Chandler to go long for it. Secure the first and gamble when you have extra downs

No. When you are on your first drive of the game, easily within FG range, and you are trying to gain any resemblance of momentum as a program...you. take. The. Points.

Morris is going to have to figure a way to counter the Memphis blitz. If they blitz like this Rogers will get sacked or have to get rid of the ball so quickly we will have only incompletions or short gains.

Well, there's top-tier analysis from the coach.  "We got to stop the run, by tackling their players."

Freaking brilliant . . .

On runs, they rarely look like they are in the position to tackle the runner within 3-5 yards of the line of scrimmage.

Remember…..this Caponi guy makes $475,000 a year.

Thats $40,000 a month.

Let that sink in!!!

So Morris decides to pay this guy that much as a FIRST TIME DC for this? Seems like a panic move by Morris.
