Former Sam Houston coach Jason Hooten took the job at NMSU after last season.

His 13-year assistant coach, Chris Mudge, was promoted to Head Coach at Sam Houston (no previous head coach experience)....

Sam Houston's men's basketball roster returns only 3 lettermen from last year's 26-8 team.

In a roster makeover they have added 10 transfers and 2 high school experienced players....

There is no mention on our Exhibition game on the SHSU Athletic site or their official basketball schedule that I could find.  So, don't expect many Bearkat fans in Denton, which is disappointing since these are charity fundraising exhibitions.  It is listed on the UNT, Texas Tech and A$M schedules.

Thanks for the post on the game @NT80

This is going to be a really good challenge early and as indicated both programs will be looking do develop chemistry with new faces.

Also, I want invite everyone coming to the game to join us after it is over (about 4:30PM) for a unique chance to visit with the UNT coaches and players.  We will be meeting in the Mean Green Honors Club room right under the Super Pit and providing more information on the newly formed Mean Green Collective.  One of our primary goals is to do everything we can to keep the nucleus of talent on the UNT team together for a full two years.  If we can do that it would be huge in terms of what we are capable of accomplishing. Space is limited down there so try to make it as soon after the game as you can.  Looking forward to seeing everyone there.  GMG

Whats the best way to get down there if we don't have Loge or Courtside Seats lanyards?  The arena attendants, especially if they're new, usually try hard at the begining of the season to keep people off the hardwood even if they're allowed to be there.

PLEASE READ:  Upon conclusion of the Men's Basketball game vs. Sam Houston, the Mean Green Collective will be in the Mean Green Honor Club room on the lower level of the Super Pit.  Individuals planning to attend can make their way down the stairs near the end of the Mean Green home bench and up to north tunnel to the right.  The Mean Green Honor Club room is just around the corner from the north tunnel at the Super Pit.  There will be individuals present to help direct you once you get to the stairwell at the end of the Mean Green bench. Look forward to seeing many of you there!  Go Mean Green!

So why is this simply a game on the schedule or an exhibition game? If it is an exhibition game: why? would this not be the kind of game that would be useful to have on the schedule, and doesn't NT still have the possibility to add games this season?

There is no radio or TV for this which is not uncommon for exhibitions.

There's a link on the website for audio:

No sound though.

Live stats do work however:

The UNT website says there will be no radio or TV.

"Media Coverage

No video streaming or radio broadcasts will be available, so the only way to catch the action will be in person."
