I hate those black helmets with a burning passion. If we want to build our brand as the Mean Green, then why don’t we actually wear green when being put on a national stage??? Like c’mon we’ve been on ESPN several times this year and only worn green once. Absolutely ridiculous.

They look terrible on TV. So freaking tired of hearing the athletic department talk about branding for the Mean Green when they keep putting teams out in black (and the grey that is even worse)

Why not all white? Lame

It's dumb they're trying to say these are "icy". There's way too much black.

And I hate how the new white unis have black collars around the neck and arms. Should be green or white like previous versions.

Black helmets are fine just think the SOW in the Texas outline is blah

"blah" would be a massive improvement.  That logo is embarrassing.  You can't tell wtf it is from further than 5 feet away.  I'd like to see a version where the SOW was huge with the Texas outline in the background like on the field.  Not sure it would work on a helmet, but the current high school version sucks!

Is there a rule in place, preventing opposing teams from wearing matching helmet colors?

Good question. I'm not sure if there is an official rule, but I would think it would be beneficial to your quarterback to have contrasting colors.

I’m not disagreeing with you because you may be right, but football was played for years with teams often not having contrasting helmets.  I’d love to see some analytics on this:  Completion %, interceptions thrown, etc.

It would be interesting to see, although I'd think the data would be skewed to today because the athletic ability has gotten better over the years.

They always say black ice is the most dangerous to drive on. 🧊

Key & Peele taught us how dangerous that sneaky black ice is.  It practically robs us of our balance.

I’m talking about data from this season, last season, the past five seasons…Anything relevant.
