Right off the bat we play #98, 60, 63 and the winner of 47 vs 69.

Big opportunity in non conference to assert ourselves and not have to pray for a bid at the end of the year.

And number 27 Mississippi State.

Worth noting that Memphis (32) and FAU (37) are the only AAC teams ahead of North Texas with UAB (90), SMU (92) and Tulane (95) close behind.

Much heavier competition in this league, for certain.

So we finish 31-7 last year, win the NIT, are ranked #31 in the final coaches poll *and* in the final Kenpom ranking and drop 56 spots in the same Kenpom ranking to start off the 23-24 season?  Is this all based on the loss of Perry, Huntsberry and coach Mac?  I guess we will just have to prove ourselves to the non-believers all over again.

we lost almost 50 points from a team that averaged 64 and a head coach. I'm pretty OK with this ranking.

Pomeroy, it seems, doesn't start that well.  But once the season gets moving, and if you are playing a good schedule, his ratings tend to improve.  If we can beat St. John's we should jump about thirty spaces.  It's not where you start it's where you finish!

This is all based off of needing to position 25+ "high major" programs off in a strong standing to boost resumes of the usual good teams when they beat those 25+ teams and to give those 25+ teams a shot of making an unearned at-large bid in the tournament. Same thing every year.

#43, ninth in the Big 12.

Grant and Tech beat #15 A$M at the Super Pit exhibition 89-84 after our game.

Tech was 14 of 34 on 3-point shots (41%), lol.

It is weird seeing Grant in Red on our sideline...
