* Current record 5-1 and #23 in the nation.  Their lone loss was by 17 to Ole Miss.

* They are 2-0 in conference beating UAB 35-23 and Memphis 31-21.

* This is their homecoming game.

* They are scoring 30 points per game and giving up 18 per game.

* Their run defense is their strength allowing only 2.6 yards per carry and 77.7 yards per game.

* They can be thrown against allowing just shy of 250 yards per game and a 66% completion percentage.

* Although susceptible to the pass, they have intercepted 9 passes this year.  #7 Lance Robinson is the team leader with 4 INT's. Five other players have one each.  They have only given up three interceptions on offense.

* They average 391.8 yards per game while giving up 327.5

* They convert 41% of their third down conversions while allowing their opponents to only convert 34%.

* Their offence averages 156.5 yards per game rushing and 4.1 yards per carry.

* Top RB is #21 Makhi Hughes who averages 83 yards per game and 5.1 yards per carry.  QB Michael Pratt is their second leading rusher with 145 yards on 32 carries.

* Pratt is completing almost 71% of his passes (65-92) with only 1 INT and 9 TD's.

* Pratt spreads the ball around with five receivers with over ten receptions.

* Leading WR is #6 Lawrence Keys III (22-416-5) folllowed by Jha'Quan Jackson (17-305-4), Chris Brazzell II (16-282-2), Yulkeith Brown (10-131-0) and Alex Bauman (13-70-1).

* Tulane's OL averages 6'4" and 308 lbs.  Their DL averages 6' 3.5" and 278 lbs.

Both the Green Wave offensive and Defensive lines are going to pose problems for the Mean Green.  And they have speed burners at WR and the best QB in the league.  This is the class of the AAC, and it's not C-USA anymore.

The outcome of this game is going to be 100% contingent on how our offense does early, IMO. If I’m the coach, I want the ball first and want to go get points on the board. We have to put the pedal down and keep it there. Take the crowd out of the game early and build a cushion.

I agree.  I am usually all for deferring to the second half, but would prefer the above and then properly managing the clock/executing to ensure we have the ball/score at the end of the first half.
