Hurray for Bill! Everyone with an interest in NT broadcasting history should read Bill's book "Play by Play." He also was one of the authors of "When the news went live: Dallas 1963" about the coverage of the Kennedy assassination. Look at that famous picture of all the reporters lined up when the Dallas police brought out Oswald for a midnight press conference - there's Bill on the front row!

Bill Mercer is the first person I associated with North Texas. When I watched the occasional game as a kid in the 1970s, I recognized him from the Saturday Night Wrestling broadcasts on Channel 11.

One of the all-time greats in DFW sports broadcasting and a well-deserved inductee into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame.
