If wearing alternative uniforms is what it takes to motivate these players, we have the wrong players and coaches. The Mean Green on National TV, and we wear freaking black. What a waste.

I love this uniform! And it plays right into there being an eclipse in the middle of the game. Really cool!

You don't see how they could have thought wearing black during an eclipse was an idea they came across? They are also fully wearing black unlike previous times when they had white pants. 

 

Edit: Just checked the post on twitter and when someone mentioned they matched the eclipse the Mean Green Sports account responded with an eclipse emoji.

Not to be a member of the uniform  fashion police, but a black eagle on green state of Texas on a black helmet looks like a blob on T.V. If the state of Texas was white instead of green then the black eagle on the black helmet would pop.
