It is real.  Here are some scores from just this year.

Week 1: Texas St beat Baylor 42-31, NutsaCK lost to Houston by 3

Week 2: App St lost to UNC by 6 in 2OTJ, ames Madison beat VA, Rice beat Houston

Week 3: Old Dominion loses by 3 to Wake Forest, South Alabama over Okie St 33-7

Week 4: Marshall over VA Tech

That's just this year.  It happens every year. Schools that we SHOULD be ahead of constantly punch above their weight class, and even remain undefeated well into the year, and even get ranked.  Why can't we do the same thing?

Yep our program sucks compared to what has been invested in it.  That is unquestionable and debating with people who think otherwise because they don’t look at the investment data is a waste of energy.  Our problems are all about management.  Littrell shouldn’t have gotten a 2nd extension.  McCarney should have been forced to hire  a spread OC with a strong recruiting reputation in Texas.  Dodge should have had a staff full of FBS experience brought on board with him.  Dickey should have gotten more financial support and facility upgrades started earlier.   All of these things were first guessed by many longtime members of this board and fans.  Even now Morris and company were set up for failure given the task of upgrading this roster to compete in AAC later than necessary because they chose to hold on to Littrell for the entirety of the regular season.  At the latest Seth should have been fired after the first loss to UTSA.  That gets you to the market early, hire Morris (or someone better) earlier and have them recruiting at least part time if they are already on a P5 staff with big opportunities on the horizon.

The sad thing is that I wanted SL gone, but he would have beat this team because PB would have gotten more stops than Caponi.

I am not sure PB sticks around for the last year of Littrell's contract.  And even if they had retained Seth, I don't think he gets a contract extension beyond just an paid option to retain him for 2024.   With PB experience, and stage in life he wasn't going to stay anywhere that wasn't going to be on national TV every week.
