I was going thru some of the games that Auburn has played this year and have not seen Shorter catching any passes. What is his status?

IDK, but Nixon starts, or at least plays a lot for Auburn.

Was their second leading tackler yesterday.

I did see one play where they mentioned Shorter's name on an overthrown pass. It seems that Nixon may be the only player that transferred out that's getting quality playing time

I think Aberding gets playing time at Cal. Roberts gets a lot of snaps at Baylor, too.

Roberts has been averaging 3 catches for 20 yards the last 2 games. Baylor is terrible this year and might not win another game.

I think Gaddie and Nixon are the only ones playing significant minutes. As a DB, Gaddie shouldn't be getting tackles if he does his job right. I caught the end of LSU - Ole Miss a couple weeks ago. LSU was driving at the end of the game and needed a TD to win. Gaddie dropped an interception but helped make the game winning defensive stop a bit after. Considering he did his time here and graduated, I'm glad he's have success. For those who bounced early, well, good luck.

The only one I cannot hope does well (on the field) is Robertson.

Eh.  Maclin has replaced him and then some.

Shorter would be the best jump ball threat but between the 20s, Maclin is the guy. Sure would have been nice to have Shorter to close out that first drive against Navy. That said, he's gone and our offense has been strong all year and is only getting better. Rogers was put in at the right time and this offense will be dangerous in conference play.

Some of these guys are just either young & dumb or just getting poor advice.  If you are an offensive skill position guy, transferring to P5 is probably not going to work out how you think it will.  All the positions on offense are dependent on the OL and QB.  So if you are producing good numbers at a mediocre or good G5 program, most likely you are not going to step to P5 and pad stats for NFL consideration.  If Seth and other offensive coaching personnel go with you, a transfer for one of those guys would make sense.

Defense is a different case.  If you have the size, speed, block shredding technique, play diagnosis smarts and ball skills you will make plays wherever you go.  You just have ball out in training camp to secure playing time.  Nixon and the brothers that transfered to UCLA made sense for them imo.

Shorter is one of my favs. Austin should have thrown him twice as many balls! If healthy I still think he has next level talent. Should have stayed, but I don’t know how much $$$ he is making.
