We've got 5-6 nonconference games left to add. So far only one at home (Omaha), and only Omaha shows the matchup on their calendar. Here's what else I'd like to see, in a realistic version:

vs. Tarleton (opener)
vs. UT Arlington
@ Western Kentucky
vs. Nevada
@ Vanderbilt
vs. Louisiana Tech

Personally I have no interest in playing Western Kentucky or Louisiana Tech right now. We have to adopt the same scheduling mindset as big programs. Either a  strong opponent with a good NET ranking so a loss doesn't kill you come bracket time in March or a weak opponent that you're likely to beat. Beating WKU and La Tech does nothing for NET rankings/public perception but losing hurts. Two high risk, low reward games against programs we know too well who will be fired up to beat us. Hard pass.

They were 5-27 last year.   Not a good opponent to draw home fans nor get us ready for our AAC schedule.

I think we have plenty of good opponents to get us ready for conference play. You need to have a couple of cupcake games and since we can't get good teams to come to Denton, we have to fill in the home schedule with whoever we can get. Our strength of schedule will be one of the best we have seen in a long time with a lot of tough road games against quality opponents.

I don't see Wichita State on that conference slate. Is that an error or is that correct?

Here is the Wichita State OOC schedule  (no conference sched posted yet).  They already played 3 games in Greece in August, and have 8 home OOC games, plus 2 neutral games close by at K.C...

I’ve noticed a few schools play/played games in July or August. Didn’t we do it in the early years of GMac?  Seems like a good way to get some work in.

We played in italy one year. I think you're limited to one of these trips every few years?

I think I read our players scrimmaged Bleed Green prior to their tourney run.  That should have been some quality practice.

good to know, I was thinking we didn't have a lot of home games in conference play

On the schedule shown earlier in this thread...the first five shown are home and away, the next four are home only and the last four are away only.  That gives us 18 conference games...nine home and nine away.
