Army has some  games scheduled that could get cancelled when they move to the AAC. Maybe there could be some interesting schools (Coastal Carolina? Air Force? Tulsa? Syracuse? Boston College?) looking to fill a 2028 slot who might want a home and home with us?

That's what I was thinking a few weeks ago. Would be cool to go watch a Mean Green game in Boston or at the Carrier Dome.

It's been a little quiet on this lately, hopefully things are still moving in a positive direction.

I attended the two Army games at West Point and attended the Navy game this past weekend at the Naval Academy.  All were very memorable, but seeing a North Texas flag flying above the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium as a conference mate was pretty special.  Hopefully, we'll see one flying above Michie Stadium in the future and both flying above DATCU stadium.

Well I was close. It was 80 games, not $80 million. However $35 million is still a big number unless you are SMU.

Honestly, for the AAC the timing isn't super crucial (unlike for the PAC2 where the silence should scare the bejeesus out of their fans). If it takes a bit longer and only happens in 2025, then that is no disaster for the AAC. Yes the uneven number would make scheduling in 2024 a bit tougher for the admins, but it could be done. I take it, that if you push Army's entrance by a year that would reduce that 35 million number by a whole lot.

SMU was our paired conference rival that we were going to play every year, at least until 2026. I hope the AAC adjusts the matchups, and doesn't just slide Army into SMU's schedule pattern for the next three years.

I believe Temple and Tulsa are the two teams who do not have an annual rival right now. I would vote for Rice/Tulane and us and UTSA.

VCU would be a tremendous get. They are my preferred school of the talked about candidates. Also I assume the headline is a mistake and it should be "Olympic Sports Member" not "Basketball-only Member" ?
