Just win, Coach O.

Don’t misinterpret the frustration and honest reporting as people rooting against you. Every fan in Mean Green Nation is rooting FOR you. We’re cheering on YOUR success. We want nothing more than for you to WIN.

So do whatever you need to do to win, and if that’s talk smack to the fanbase that desperately wants YOU to succeed and gets frustrated with a head-coach-proclaimed “atrocious” game, then by all means keep every single receipt like you’re getting ready for tax time.

Hell, upload pictures of all of the receipts to TurboTax and keep backups on DropBox so they don’t get lost in a Nike shoebox.

But just win.

The new coaches and staff don't understand the PTSD we went through with Rick Villareal and his multitude of horrible coaching hires.

In the meantime... better start warming up that transfer portal...

Well said. What if I told you there’s a SEC QB out there that fits the bill and will be ripe for the taking after this season? Would Mean Green Nation be interested?

6-foot-3, 218-pounds, with great arm strength. A fellow Texan from the DFW area with two years of eligibility left after this season. His college career got off to a hot start as a true freshman however his growth was derailed by a head coaching change during the end of his freshman season, and untimely injuries during his sophomore season. A weak O-line vs SEC defenses is always a recipe for disaster. Having lost the starting job and not seeing any playing time last year, many assumed he would hit the transfer portal… but he didn’t. In today’s environment, he chose the road less traveled - deciding to stick it out and earn his degree. The Athletic wrote a great article about it.

As a Junior (2022)
• Named to SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll
• Did not see game action

As a Sophomore (2021) - Injury Redshirt Season
• Played in eight games, starting seven
• Started the first six games of the season before injuries limited to two games over the final six
• 127-for-225 (56.4%) and 1,181 yards with five touchdown passes
• Thew for a pair of touchdowns and 333 yards in win over UConn
• With receivers Will Sheppard (119) and Chris Pierce (103) each eclipsing 100 receiving yards in the win over the Huskies, [REDACTED PLAYER] became the first [REDACTED SEC SCHOOL] QB to throw for over 300 yards with a pair of 100-plus yard receivers since 2013 (Austyn Carta-Samuels)
• Passed for 238 yards and a touchdown in win over Colorado State

As a Freshman (2020) - COVID-19 Season
• Nine games played, nine starts
• Third SEC true freshman quarterback to start a season opener since 1972
• 186-of-288 passing (64.6%) for 1,928 yards [(REDACTED SEC SCHOOL) freshman record]
• 214.2 passing yards/game
• Third [REDACTED SEC SCHOOL] true freshman to throw for 1,000 yards in a season
• 12 touchdowns against 10 interceptions
• Tied for third in [REDACTED SEC SCHOOL] history for 300-yard passing games (3)
• Team-high 1,876 yards of total offense
• Third in passing yards/game among SEC freshmen, third in total offense, fifth in pass efficiency (127.6)

• Among true freshmen nationally, second in passing yards, second in completions, second in attempts, second in completion percentage, third in passing touchdowns and third in pass efficiency
• One of two true freshmen nationally who completed at least 60 percent of his passes and threw for more than 1,000 yards
• 20 or more completions six times with season-best 31 vs. Ole Miss and Mississippi State
• 200 or more passing yards five times
• At least two passing touchdowns in four games
• Fifth [REDACTED SEC SCHOOL] true freshman quarterback to eclipse 100 passing yards in a game
• Fourth true freshman since 2012 to make his first two starts against top-20 foes
• Season-best 157.05 pass efficiency vs. No. 6 Florida
• Two touchdown passes vs. Ole Miss
• Career-high 336 passing yards at Mississippi State [[REDACTED SEC SCHOOL] freshman record]
• 225 passing yards and two touchdowns at Kentucky
• 319 passing yards and two scores against No. 6 Florida for season’s third 300-yard passing performance
• 239 passing yards and two touchdowns against Tennessee

The [REDACTED PLAYER] File
• Three-star prospect by ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports
• Nation’s 17th-best pro-style quarterback by Rivals
• School-record 5,714 passing yards and 53 passing touchdowns
• 6,426 all-purpose yards and accounted for 65 touchdowns in final two prep seasons
• Led team to 7-4 record and school’s first 6A state playoff appearance in 12 years
• 3,060 passing yards and 33 touchdowns, nearly 500 rushing yards and seven scores as a senior

Coming home with a chip on your shoulder and the opportunity to play in front of friends and family… that’s one helluva motivator.

@C Rod What are your ties to Weatherford/Seals? A post from a while back says you spent 2 years filming Seals.  Are you a pro videographer?

I'm a commercial video producer and director with a love for football and Friday night lights. Back in 2018 I moved to Fort Worth and wanted to take on a passion project. Dale Hansen had done a sports news segment profiling Ken so I reached out to his father and asked if it would be okay if I attend games and film his son.

Man, y'all hit my sentiment just right. These guys don't realize this is our school. We went here. We love this place. This isn't a job that we're holding until a better opportunity presents itself. None of us are waiting to be promoted to Texas fans. Stop b*tching about receipts like your seat at UNT on day 1 is so hot. Do your job and make our school proud.

Nice but we had a QB transfer from Alabama and it didn't work out.  Wouldn't hurt to try but not nearly as optimistic about transfer from Vandy.

^ This.

Coaches and administrators need to understand that bucking their fan base is never a good idea. Coaches, administrators, and now even players come and go, but the fans outlast them all. Coach O needs to check himself, and focus on his job, which right now he is failing at.

This team better be ready to run it up against FIU and LA Tech.
