Army would be a respectable add.

Otherwise, don’t add anyone and wait for the inevitable collapse of the ACC. It would be foolish to add some Sun Belt schools right now and then not have room for someone like Duke if they need a life raft in a few years.

I'd like to add at least one to have an even number of football schools. Sounds like the leading candidate is Army.

I am curious to see what happens to our future conference scheduling. SMU was going to be the team we played annually for the next four years, at least. Now we are without a yearly rival. Adding Army would bump Temple out of their planned annual series with Navy.

Out of the 14 teams, Tulsa and Tulane were the only two without an annual partner over the next four seasons. Add us and Temple to the fold if Army joins. Our next rival would be UTSA, and you could slide Rice over to play Tulane annually. That would leave Tulsa and Temple as the only schools without an annual rival.

It was mentioned Army vs Navy is a special rivalry and usually after conference games are over.  It was suggested they could still play every year then, but just not counted as a conference game for championship purposes.  I guess they wouldn't play during the regular season either?

If that is the case, I'd hate to be in charge of whoever has to redo the scheduling patterns.

I really liked what our 2023-26 was looking like.
