Park in the Blue Lot behind the stadium if they sell drive-up tickets on Sat.  Get there early.  If you park in the cheap parking in the Orange Lot (Fouts Field Lot), you'll need time to hike across the pedestrian bridge over I-35. If you park in the Blue Lot, you'll need time to get into the lot, especially if you're hoping to pay for a spot (sometimes they stop drive-up purchases for the Blue Lot).

There's usually plenty of activity in the Plaza behind the east side of DATCU.  There will be a stage with bands and usually organizations or companies giving out free samples and other giveaways.

If you're an Alumni Association member (which you should be if you hold a degree from UNT), go to the Alumni Pavillion near the bridge on the north side of DATCU.  There will be electric fans, shade, free food, a band (either playing Country or depressing acoustic versions of 90s/2000s pop-rock anthems 🤐), football games on TV, and a cash bar.

Tell your wife or girlfriend (bring both!) and your daughters to not bring their purses.  Bring everything in a stadium clear bag.  They sell them on Amazon for $10-12 if you don't have one from other major sporting events.

Cheer loud.  We don't get P5 teams at home very often!

Breakfast at Cartwright's on the square if not at the hotel and spend some time hanging out around the square in the morning.  Head to campus around noon, visit the tailgate areas on The Hill and in the Blue Lot prior to the game, catch the band and the team as they march into the stadium.  Stop by the Alumni Pavilion, if a member, and grab a quick bite to eat or just head into the stadium.  Prior to entering, get a picture by the King/Haynes busts in Unity Plaza and by the Joe Greene statue on the west side.  Head in to DATCU, stop by the stadium store and head to your seats for the players entrance.  Find your seats, be loud, keep cool, head down on the field after the game for some pics.

If you are flying out at 8pm Saturday night, head to Love immediately following the game, stop by Campisi's in the food court for a pizza, catch your flight and nap on the flight home.

One addition.  Stop by @Harry and @KingDL1 tailgate. Ask for the balls.  Nothing better than a mouth full of his balls prior to a game.

I reread your post and see that you are arriving Friday morning.  I would adjust my recommendations to spending Friday afternoon/evening around the downtown square.  Lots of places to eat and be entertained.  Saturday, I would prep for the heat and head over to DATCU around noon.

Spring Hill and flight leaves out of Love @ 8p

On Saturday or Sunday? If Saturday, you might have to leave at halftime or end of third quarter.
