CUSA getting an early start

In “Week 0” CUSA has two conference games.  
 

UTEP vs Jacksonville State (JSU currently up 17-14) 

FIU vs La Tech

 

No matter how this whole Pac4 thing shakes out, we are SO much better off outside of that league

There -is- a lot less competition for eyeballs this week, and they probably get some visibility and coverage they wouldn't otherwise.

Jacksonville State looked surprisingly solid for their first season in FBS.

Not to take away from Jax State, but UTEP's HC, Dimel, is a terrible on-the-field coach. The only reason he is still there is that their President doesn't give a crap about athletics and makes no effort to invest in or build their program.

They beat Florida State in their house a couple years ago and had been a very successful FCS program. They're going to surprise some folks.
