I get that we're North Texas, but why don't we ever try branding anything related to "Metroplex." It's synonymous with North Texas for most people living in North Texas, and includes Denton. I think it's worth considering as an alternative marketing campaign. It could create differential brand value. And to me, it would make sense in the American.

I don’t guess I understand what you’re proposing.  Can you give an example of what this might look like?

I understand what they're proposing, I'm not sure what examples they have in mind though.

nah this sounds too much like SMU putting dallas on a uni when they are not dallas's team. i dont want "metroplex" on a jersey

That is good marketing though. The closest public University to Dallas with a football team is us, so unless we tried to claim it like OP is wanting to claim the metroplex, it makes a lot of sense for recruiting and fan purposes to market yourself as the local college football team to support. SMU can burn for all I care, but it's a smart strategy. So much so that I wish FC Dallas would copy it and use the strategy for advertising the local homegrown players that get signed to pro contracts.
