Such a good idea.

Back in 1994.....when we needed to average 17,000 in attendance to get back to FBS (or 1-A).....one of the big donors to the cause....was an alum from Thailand. He had gotten into American sports while over here......and he bought loads of tickets to help the cause. (even though he lived back in Thailand). Can't remember his name....but as I recall...he years later...gave the school a big donation.

So you never know what kind of fan.....you're gonna create.

I would also like to see them do this with other student groups. We need to be creative in finding new fans.

Always felt like our biggest enemy on campus in terms of morale was the reject from Texas or Tech or wherever who either couldn't cut it or their parent ran out of money and "ended up" at NT.  My roommate was one of those.  Bastard was an Aggy reject and constantly was bragging how much better sports and whatever was back at A&M and how NT would never amount to anything.  I finally told him one night after many beers, "why TF are you here dude?"  He said it was mainly financial and he would someday transfer back.  Of course he never did and he never has supported or gone to NT games even though that is where his degree is from.

When I see stories about the global students I think they could be some of our best future fans because we don't have to reprogram them like so many other of our students.

I had one of my Production Operation Management classes, and on the first day, two guys walked in wearing A&M ball caps. My professor looked at both of them and asked, "Why the hell are you wearing those here?" They gave a poor-me story about having problems at A&M and thought they would enroll at North Texas to bump up their GPA quickly so they could return. Happy to say both guys dropped the class after the first exam when they were the bottom two in the class.

One of my favorite football memories was being at Fouts during the Dickey years, and for one of the games a group of study abroad students were in the upper level behind us dressed up and yelling in Japanese the whole game.
