The reality is it’s mostly just SEC twitter and SECPN complaining. It’s funny that all these years schools like UNT have had to win a conference tournament to get into the NCAA basketball tournament because they’re from “one bid leagues” and now the big conferences are learning, even to a small degree, what it feels like to have a “good season” and still get left out.
In two weeks ask any "sports fan" (but non-AAC) if UTSA won a Bowl and who did they play. I doubt you could find one person that correctly knows the answer.
Coaches salaries are public info at a Public university. Should players salaries be public too? I don't know. Maybe coaches are like car salesmen and every customer (player) gets a different deal?
If you gave $1000 to Chandler Morris' NIL this past season for 6 wins, then he's gone....are you happy? I know we can't afford a $4m a year QB. What is the going rate for G5 positions?
How about paying new fans instead to attend a game? If we gave enough to attract 35,000 fans a game at home would that have more impact and improve our win total more than paying NIL?
Something to think about...
What a great year for us…SMU goes to the playoff in their first year as an ACC member, UTSA clobbers Coastal Carolina in a bowl game on their home turf in SC, and we go 6-6 and get to play Texas State in a bowl game, which we will most likely lose.
