did a little dig through their IG, since their website mentions almost nothing about their spirits and distilling practice (red flag)...figured at best they're making their own vodka/clear spirits on their own stills, but sourcing their browns...did find a shot of them filling 25-ish gallon barrels though, so that means they're doing some accelerated aging on their browns.

either way...safe to say this place is a generic "gastropub" first and a distillery second.

It’s nice to see Red’s old space get used I guess, but seems like a cursed spot that still hasn’t lived up to its potential. Related, but anyone heard what’s going into the Armadillo and Boca 31 spots? I’ve heard Union Bear, which is just weird on a few levels, but haven’t seen anything official. I guess that pairs well with the Rodeo Goat that’s about to open.

Roanoke resident here: Only went a couple times so limited info but they only sell what they distill. Never had a full alcohol license. Food wasn't terrible but didn’t blow you away either. The owner is a really nice guy. Think they’re better suited in Denton as his son does drag and they got in some hot water for hosting a drag show once.

"controversy"

If you consider drag shows as “family friendly”, as they promoted their little event, then I guess this wouldn’t be controversial to you. Pretty sure I know where you stand.
