Is that the before picture?

(seriously, I have a deep affection for Fouts, but the only things I miss are policy-related, i.e. in and out privileges and kids on the field to bring the players back on for the second half)

in and out privileges

My crew started buying $80 GA season tickets and got ourselves halftime in and out privileges. A quick hotdog and a couple of beers later, we make it back inside for the second half. Plus it helps the department get a few extra season ticket sales.

Right there with you, brother.

I would argue some of those on the Hill would make there way into a bit of a game or two, if they could go in and out. I also think it would help get a few more in to see the Senior Day celebration, stay for a bit, go out, grab a brew, come back in for the Drive, as an example.

May lose a few beer sales, but get more butts on camera.

At the time I’d have loved it if we did what Houston did with Robertson Stadium by digging down, tearing out the track and installing good lower levels and quality end zones to make it more intimate, modernize and keep the history.  I’m sure the infrastructure would have been tough.  I miss the history and I miss being on campus.  That said, what we built turned out incredible and I love it.

I’d also add that UH wound up building a new stadium after all that anyway.

History ?  What about “the stand” ?  What about “the drive” ?  We make history at DATCU every time we unlock to gates and turn on the lights.

Lock the gate...

Sad day indeed.  A lot of good memories there.image.png

I do not miss trying to tailgate on the blacktop oven through mid oct. I swear I was covered in sweat after like 5 minutes of standing there
