At this point, I hope they go. What do you think Mike Aresco does? I would still think their first option would be to add Army. Does a Cal/Stanford move to the ACC mean OSU and WSH would go to the MWC, or is the American a better fit? If not, does he stay with the formula of looking for a team in/near large markets?

Army is not joining a conference. OSU/WSU will merge in some fashion with the MWC. Cal/Stanford/SMU's move to ACC has a real roadblock. The conference is locked into their existing tv contract for about another dozen years or so. Any conference addition must bring increased revenue , not dilute existing monies paid to its members. Cal/Stanford were passed over by Big 10 because they brought no money to the table and neither does SMU. Clemson and Fl. State want more money as they are big dogs [well Clemson is] in football, similar to Boisie State's agreement with the MWC. The ACC is a mess. About 7 of its members want out but can't afford to leave. The ACC wants to add members but without an increase in tv revenue for the next dozen years of so can't afford a pay cut.
