Does Deon think that only he can coach his son? Does he now have to be a football coach, too? Can he coach? What’s the value of Colorado? The ESPN article mentions since leaving the Big 12 Colorado has had NO bowl wins and only two winning seasons since 2011…

B12 should make that deal very B12 friendly. No way I’d let CU enter the deal without heavy penalties and fees for leaving early. With no exit fees to leave the Pac12 now, what’s the downside for CU? All in their favor…

I believe Conference chaos has been good for NT so far.   If the dominoes fall right, the AAC could be in line to get some orphaned MWC teams soon.

Colorado leaving before the PAC media deal is revealed is not a good sign it is going well.  Other PAC schools will consider options also as the Big12 dangles a 14th invite.  This will cause the BIG10 to also speed up expansion plans…

Big 10 hasn’t won any CFB playoffs or National Championships since Ohio St in ‘18. Is the Big 10 really that big? With UCLA and whatever other college from CA joining, do they now make the Big 10 ‘Big’?

If this happens, CU will have to schedule some different OOC games.  Opportunity for UNT maybe?

Have a button ready to hit and welcome CSU into AAC Big 12 country. They will enjoy following big brother into the heart of Texas recruiting. Get UNLV or Boise as travel partner. UNLV preferred.

At this exact moment with only CU departing? Yes.

If/When a handful of the more prominent programs in the conference leave? Not so sure.

Let's consider a worst case.  Oregon & Washington gone, 4 corners gone.  Left with

Cal Stanford OSU WSU.

Now backfill with

SDSU, SMU, Tulane, CSU, Boise, UNLV.

That's still a significant upgrade in media money and prestige over AACUSA.  It's more like AAC from last year.  Nothing like hoped but.... At least no Charlotte.

In that scenario Big12 is full, maybe PAC can merge with ACC leftovers when it is raided.

Damn boy, you polishing up this turd. This has been the plan. The dominos will fall and good luck with that new conference you're scheming up. SMUs best bet was always the big12. TCU ruined that. Have fun scheming ideas up while hoisting how many conference championship trophies?

Top MWC teams aren't going anywhere while Pac12 fallout continues. They have an opportunity to be conference mates with at least OSU/WSU.

And why is being conference mates with them of any significance?  They would much prefer access to Texas recruiting.

There will be a larger media deal available afforded to a conference made from the rest of PAC + best of MWC than what AAC will have next go-round.

The best of the MWC has half the media deal the AAC does, and the schools dragging down the Pac media deal are suddenly going to catapult them to a fat contract?

In a couple of years....seems like college football will be the SEC and Big 10.

And then everyone else will be left to figure it out. That's the divide. No more P5/G5. SEC/Big10 and then the rest.

The BIG 12 has announced they are going to begin playing games in Mexico as they think it is an huge untapped fan base. Arizona would be a perfect program for this. Whether they would split from Arizona State is another question.

Agree 100%.  And frankly I am ok with that.

My best guess is that the Big 12 will poach Arizona and Arizona State.  I think the B10 will take Oregon and Stanford.  I think that the rest will have to go to the Mountain West.  I think that the AAC should try to make a play for the remaining ones though as well.  The AAC has a valid selling point to them with their markets.

It’s all about getting the P5 patch on their uniforms.  They don’t care who the conference teams are with them.

For the past 75 years, teams out west have dreamed of joining the Pac-6, 8, 10, 12 or whatever. It's hard to just change what you've wished for for decades.

Fatter than what AAC will get on the next go-round, yes. It won't be too fat, we're talking recent dad bod sized.

Even in DentonStang's dream scenario above, that contract doesn't match current AAC minus SMU/Tulane in exposure or dollars imo.

Nevermind that AAC + CSU/AFA is more likely than AAC - SMU/Tulane.

Boise and SDSU make revenue, the rest are zeros.  And I don't think you're familiar with the relative revenue of each PAC team.  What I described isn't $30M/yr by any means but it's higher than AAC post-UH/Cincy/UCF departure
