Scheduling is a lot harder than most people think.  Some people won't play you and many times you just don't have a fit with each other.

I am always in favor of scheduling a home game we should win and I don't want to play P5 unless they agree to come to Denton (preferably first).

North Alabama??
If we just have to schedule an FCS program it should at least be a Texas FCS that fans have heard of.

Maybe it’s just a typo?

It should say:

North (Texas hosts) Alabama.

I do trust JM but I agree this doesn’t move the needle.  I’m cool playing all the MWC games to just build our brand among G5 but I think our leverage is better than this and I agree that our FCS games oughtta be teams we recognize.

Not the type of games that are likely to help you qualify for the playoffs should it come down to strength of schedule.
Oh well. We are North Texas.

We already have a solid OOC schedule in 2027 (Texas Tech, Wyoming) and 2029 (Baylor, Army) and play in the best G5 conference. These games won’t mean anything in terms of the playoffs.

Why are we going to San Jose first?  That's BS Jarod!

Why?  I mean, I would prefer it to be that way, but why is this BS?

So if every FBS school took the same path (only playing OOC games where they come to your stadium first), I guess everyone's schedules would be conference games and OOC games against FCS schools. It's comical how some of our "fans" act like we're too good for certain schools or going there first, but if another G5 said the same about UNT, you would be pissed.

Perfectly said.

And if you look at our future schedules, we already have 2 home games booked every year through 2030. Any future home/home series will likely see us on the road first since we have some many road openings.

My guess is that our new golf coach, who came from there, is somehow involved in them being scheduled.  I hope that's the case because it makes some sense.

I didn't eyeroll this comment you made some good points.  This is bad guess though.  I would also add Sam Houston State and Texas State to opponents preferable to North Alabama.   Before these games are played a lot could change.  The only thing you can rely on is that school isn't going to move geographically.  Hell FCS program from a large school you put on your schedule 5 years from now could either be folding their program, transitioning to D-2, or transitioning to FBS.
