Just goes to show the most successful G5s (ever?) have to use promotions to get butts in seats.

Sure. But, also, not sure. They have a stadium that seats 36k and change. They typically average around 85-90% capacity every season, which puts there always at #1 or #2 in attendance. In very meaningful games it's not uncommon for them to sellout the stadium here and there. I would call this promotion them just being forward thinking while continuing pretty dang good attendance.

For the sake of comparison, we average around 60% capacity. 2 years ago we averaged just north of 50% capacity. In big games, we will get up to 80% capacity (25k). In our biggest of games (2 or 3 times), we will get up to 90% capacity (28k).

Old Boise State wouldn't have to do this.  I think this one more indication of the battles programs across the country are facing with attendance.

Agree, not Old Boise anymore.  Plus, their 2023 home schedule is lacking...

I feel like college football is in a great place right now. Not sure about attendance numbers but CFB popularity has to be at an all time high right now imo.

Who would have thought only catering to the marquee brands and refusing to develop the smaller programs/fanbases, eventually driving those fans away, wouldn't be sustainable long-term?

I thought everyone wanted to play Wyoming at home.

Wyoming is much better for us than Texas Southern, UIW, Portland St, or any FCS.  But Boise regularly gets P5 at home; not this year.
