Starting to see/hear references to Mean Green Machine, Mean Green Wrecking Machine or some variation along these lines in the media...either on sports news or broadcasts.  We must defend our brand or we will lose it.  Other media types or casual fans will pick up on this and before you long, that's how everyone will refer to us.  We are the Mean Green.  No additional verbiage allowed.  This needs to be reiterated ad nauseam by our AD in media handouts, directives, communications, corrections, etc.

this was used when we knocked off purdue. i dont have a problem with it. still says mean green, its a positive connotation

It doesn’t bother me. Our official branding says Mean Green. It’s positive press. I think it’s fine.

This is the only time I can recall it being said as well. Didn’t have a problem with it. We “wrecked” brackets by beating Purdue.

News segment on recent QB commit.  Also, all my friends are very aware of where I went to school and that I follow Mean Green sports.  Durning sports season, I get asked who the Mean Green Machine play this week or did the Mean Green Machine win last night.

I agree with Keith.  Just the facts, ma’am.  No more.  No less.  Mean Green. 
 

I’ve read the instructions distributed by the Athletic Dept pertaining to terms to use and terms to avoid.  The hand out says to refer to NT teams as North Texas, or Mean Green only.  Never UNT.   Bret Vito ignores that rule constantly.  The fewer monikers, the stronger the brand.

I was surprised when Ween painted UNT on the turf.

I also agree.  The only additional verbiage that I will use are GO and Get preceding Mean Green.

I believe "Mean Green" is a copyright of UNT.

Michigan State used "Mean Green" and received a call from Wren informing them of copyright infringement.

Yeah, that's not great...

I can't say I ever hear anyone refer to us as the "Mean Green Machine". The one I hear is  "Aren't y'all the Mean Green Eagles?"
