Not too much of a stretch.  We finished last year ranked #66 on the CBS Rankings: https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/rankings/cbs-sports-rankings/

Others in CBS ranking: Tulna (9), UTSA (24, a top 25 in other polls as well), SMU (58), Memphis (69), UAB (74), Cal (86), Tulsa (92), Navy (103), LaTech (118), Temple (119), and FIU (125). So that's four opponents ranked ahead of UNT. A Nystrom poll also has just four opponents (Tulane, Memphis, SMU, and Cal) ahead of us.

Teams of note:

Tulane at #9.  Never thought I would see that.

Think the Aggie faithful are happy paying Jimbo a gagillion dollars for a preseason ranking of  71?

Cal-Berkley at 86.

Never thought I would see the day when NMSU was ranked ahead of Va Tech.

James Madison at 34.

I was looking at the CUSA conference: I would guess WKU or LATech should be favored to win it all.  I forgot how many bowl tie ins they have but it will be interesting to see who goes.  Heck UTEP may win it all.
