What a surprise season so far, but man, they got hosed last night on a terrible call.  Anybody see that and hear an explanation?

I saw the immediate windfall, including the a/v of the Chicago PxP during the call.  I read a few quotes from the Rangers.

The general consensus was, what did the Rangers catcher do wrong? If you're another catcher in the league. what are you supposed to do now?

Nothing big on ESPN about this, despite some saying it's the worst call in history.

Need a Rangers thread.....

They are the hottest team in MLB out of the all star break. Swept Cleveland, going to win the series against TB. Two more big series coming up. Dodgers are here next and then we go to Houston. We could have a pretty good idea of where we stand in the next week or so.

Also....Shohei Ohtani talk is heating up with the Rangers in the middle of the conversation.

Next 2 months should be fun!

Big win last night. Marcus Semien is the glue on this team....and his rage after getting hit carried over to the rest of the team. Big message sent after 2 emotional losses. Instead of leaving Houston tied for 1st. We leave with a 13-5 win and a 2 game lead.

That dust up was fun....feels like that's what this rivalry needs.

Agreed huge win but the Stros still took 2 out of 3 and they are getting big Yordan and Altuve back for the final stretch.

And we will get back Seager and Eovaldi.

First game after the deadline. Rangers with a 1/2 game lead over the Astros. Rangers get an Ace. Astros get an Ace. Rangers go out and pitch a shutout. Heaney with 11 Ks and 2 hits through 6. The damn Astros say "hold my beer" and go throw a no hitter.

I'm not sure I remember a race down the stretch like this one has the potential to be.

It's on!

They take the last two from the A's.

Not very many breaks in the remaining schedule. At least we don't have to play the Astros again.

Really, I don't mind choking into a wild card spot. Astros fans are obnoxious. No pressure on us if they face them in the playoffs as the lower seed.

Welp, Scherzer is done for the year. Left last night's game early and has a strain in his shoulder

Official word is done for the regular season, "unlikely" for the playoffs.

We've won 4 in a row and have clinched a potential tie breaker with Toronto for a wild card spot.

Finish up at Toronto then go to Cleveland before coming home vs Boston and then we finish with 7 of the last 10 vs Seattle.

Is this season a success if say we finish 89-73 and dont make the playoffs, given all the injury issues we've had?

Nice to have fun, winning baseball back in Arlington again. I believe this will be our first winning season since 2017. But it'd still be a disappointment to miss the postseason after holding the division lead the whole season until late August.

After last night's win, we're only a half-game past the Astros. It'll be easier to take our division than take the top wild card. Right now we'd be playing at Tampa in the first round.
