So the PAC is up to six, to get to 10, add Memphis, Tulane, UTSA, UNT and there you are. I believe that 12 is a better number with a six team split east and west. Please make this happen.
I shared this same thought about our 3-3-5. Our D-linemen don’t need to be double teamed. That means linebackers have to fight off O-linemen to make a play. If the safeties are late or take a bad angle, big runs happen. The 3 D-linemen need to be monsters to make the 3-3-5 work.
Our commissioner met with reporters in Memphis this afternoon. I'm reading the tea leaves here but his defiant "I actually don't care" attitude it a bit of tell. Seems to me like he knows Memphis has one foot out the door...
AAC commissioner Tim Pernetti: 'I actually don't care' what Pac-12 is meeting about
When asked about the Tech OC's comments about seeing what Memphis did to us last season....and repeating that:
Morris was not surprised Texas Tech borrowed a concept that had worked against UNT last season.
“Everybody in America does that,” Morris said. “We made a list of all the different things that we thought schematically hurt us in the offseason and practiced them like crazy.
“Texas Tech did a good job schematically. Their tight ends are really, really big human beings. Our secondary guys couldn’t get off the blocks.”
Morris said UNT would address the issue to prevent it from happening again, likely by changing personnel.

I was surprised by our invitation to the AAC as SMU was their athletic program in DFW. I always assumed that our commissioner new that SMU was actively looking elsewhere and they wanted to protect their place in the Metroplex. If it were not their move to ACC we would be probably be back in the Sun Belt.
